Registered nurses at 10 hospitals along Florida’s Gulf Coast and in Central Florida have overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year collective bargaining agreement that they say includes important improvements in health and safety protections for nurses and patients and other substantial gains.

Registered nurses at HCA’s Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C. voted by a huge margin Thursday and Friday to ratify their first ever union contract that they say will provide significant improvements for patient care protections and enhanced standards that promote retention of experienced RNs and recruitment of new nurses.
