Nurses at the 316-bed facility say they voted to join the union because it is critical that nurses have a say in making decisions in patient care, staffing, and to help recruit and retain experienced nurses, which leads to improved patient care.

Nurses represented by National Nurses United will be joined by allies including members of Congress for a protest at Lafayette Square in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Dec. 3. After a rally with speakers, nurses and allies will march to the side of the White House where President Donald Trump’s new ballroom is being constructed.

National Nurses United condemns Trump plan on nurses’ professional degrees

National Nurses United, the country’s largest union of registered nurses, condemns the Trump administration’s proposed plan to exclude graduate nursing students from professional loans, which have higher limits than those for other graduate students. This is an attack on the nursing profession.
