Nurses, veterans to rally against Trump plan to eliminate hundreds of VA jobs in NYC

Registered nurses and veterans will hold a rally in the Bronx on Thursday, Jan. 8, to denounce the Trump administration’s plans to cut tens of thousands of jobs from the VA. The VA informed NNOC/NNU that 138 positions will be eliminated in the Bronx, and 245 positions will be cut across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.

Registered nurses at Sutter Health California Pacific Medical Center Davies in San Francisco, Calif., voted overwhelmingly to join California Nurses Association. The election represents a significant milestone for San Francisco as well – Sutter CPMC Davies was the city’s last remaining nonunion hospital for RNs.

Nurses demand Congress act to extend ACA tax credits

National Nurses United has sent letters to members of the U.S. Congress demanding they vote no on pending legislation that fails to extend Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies expiring at the end of 2025, and instead support the House Discharge Petition that is a clean three-year extension of the subsidies.
