LCMC must prioritize recruitment and retention of RNs with patient care as its highest priority. RNs deserve a fair, transparent, pay scale that allows us to live in the community in which we work. RNs at UMC have proposed this to be incorporated in our first union contract and management has yet to respond at the bargaining table.

NNU is conducting a survey of RNs regarding infection prevention practices at health care facilities across the nation. Preliminary results indicate that protections are inadequate and jeopardize health care worker and patient health and safety.

Nurse volunteers deployed to Asheville to support Hurricane Helene recovery
Registered Nurse Response Network, in partnership with International Medical Corps, deployed two teams of nurse volunteers to Asheville, N.C. to support the Hurricane Helene recovery. The fourteen nurses who volunteered on the Asheville RNRN deployment cared for residents who had arrived at shelters and clinics in the immediate aftermath of the unprecedented storm.
