Registered nurses with National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United are deeply disappointed by the District of Columbia Superior Court’s decision to deny an emergency temporary restraining order prohibiting Ascension from unlawfully closing Providence Hospital, or cutting services that are critical to the health and well-being of the people of Washington, D.C.
 

Registered nurses at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland are celebrating the overwhelming vote to approve a new five-year contract with the California Nurses Association (CNA). The pact, covering 750 registered nurses at the hospital, features patient care and wage and benefit improvements through 2023.
 

Nurses topped the 2018 Gallup Poll ranking of how Americans view 20 major professions, with 84% of the public, four in five Americans, rating their honesty and ethical standards as "high" or "very high." Nurses have ranked first for 17 consecutive years and every year except for one in the 20 years that Gallup has surveyed public opinion on the honesty and ethical standards of various occupations.
