Nurses across the United States are outraged that the Trump administration rescinded guidelines previously barring immigration raids on hospitals and other health care facilities. Our patients, who we make a sacred oath to help and heal, without discrimination, should never be forced to forego lifesaving treatment.

Submitted by njones on
The Trump Administration has changed the rules, no longer designating hospitals, as well as schools and churches, as areas free from immigration enforcement. Hundreds of registered nurses in San Joaquin County’s health system will hold an unfair labor practice (ULP) strike on Friday, Jan.17, to protest management’s persistent undermining of the bargaining process. The nurses filed a ULP charge against the county, charging that management made unilateral changes outside of the bargaining process, jeopardizing the recruitment and retention of nurses, which has a direct impact on patient safety.
