Santa Monica RNs Postpone One-Day Strike, Accept Offer for Mediation to Resume Contract Talks
Registered nurses at Saint Johns Health Center in Santa Monica have postponed a strike that had been called for tomorrow, June 13 following an offer from former California State Senator Sheila Kuehl to mediate the nurses’ dispute with Saint John’s management. Hospital executives have also called off plans to lockout RNs following a one-day strike.

Nurses Across the State Join Sutter RNs in Major Protest Monday at Summit Oakland
Call on Sutter to stop its war on nurses and patients, negotiate a fair contract. Registered nurses from hospitals throughout Northern California are gathering in force Monday to show their support for Sutter Health RNs contract fight. A rally is scheduled at noon at the Summit campus of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United announced today.
