Calling the proposed American Health Care Act “a mortal threat to the health and wellbeing of our patients and to the health security of our country,” National Nurses United (NNU) today urged all House members to defeat the proposed bill in the upcoming showdown vote Thursday.

Advocates including nurses, seniors, healthcare providers, students and immigrants, plan a march and rally in support of the Healthy California Act, SB 562, a bill that guarantees healthcare to all Californians by establishing a Medicare for all-type system, on March 26th in downtown Los Angeles.

The campaign for the Healthy California Act is inviting area residents to a community briefing in Roseville on March 26 to learn about SB 562, a bill introduced in the California Senate last month that would guarantee healthcare to all Californians by establishing a Medicare for all type system.

Registered nurse members of the CNA/NNU will join with Congressional candidate Arturo Carmona Wednesday for a press conference on the pending vote in the House on the bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the impact on Californians, and the way favored by Carmona and nurses to guarantee health care for all, a Medicare for all type system.

On Tues. March 21, S.B. 55, the Ohio Patient Protection Act—a bill by National Nurses Organizing Committee-Ohio/National Nurses United (NNOC/NNU) which sets specific limits on how many patients Ohio nurses can care for at once—will get its first hearing, with testimony by sponsor Senator Michael Skindell.
