Nurses at The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC) will hold a strike on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23—with a rally and press conference at noon on the 22nd—to highlight management’s refusal to address key issues throughout the facility, including safe patient handling and the recruitment and retention of experienced nurses.

Essex County Legislators Call on Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack to Negotiate a Fair Contract

The NLRB Strikes Another Blow Against Employers Shortchanging Workers

Labor regulators have had their hands full keeping track of all the methods employers use to disavow responsibility for their employees. In a decision issued Monday, the National Labor Relations Board drew a firm line through one maneuver that has hamstrung union organizing in shops that employ “permatemps” and contract workers side by side with direct employees.
