The nation’s largest organization of registered nurses today ridiculed Republican Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich’s attempts to excuse his ethics violations and callous treatment of his wives because he was feeling the same exhaustion experienced by many nurses. “I know nurses. I work with nurses every day. You, Mr. Gingrich, are not a nurse,” said RoseAnn DeMoro, executive director the 170,000 member National Nurses United, a non-partisan organization of the 99 percent which has not endorsed any candidate for President.

Public ranks nurses top in honesty, ethics - again

This year's update, from a Nov. 28-Dec. 1 Gallup poll, finds Americans rating the honesty and ethical standards of 3 medical professions -- nurses, pharmacists, and doctors -- the highest of the 21 professions tested. At the other end of the spectrum, Americans give the least positive honesty and ethics ratings to members of Congress, lobbyists, car salespeople, and telemarketers.
