Save Our Communities. Save Our Hospitals. Save Our Patients.

On November 4, Californians will have the opportunity to vote on Prop 50, the Election Rigging Response Act, an emergency measure to ensure U.S. patients’ voices and lives are not extinguished by the Trump Administration's scheme to steal congressional votes from Black, Latino, and working class people in Texas, Missouri, and other states.

Patients’ voices are under attack

Texas has rigged their congressional districts by diluting the political power of Black, Latino and working class voters, with a goal of adding five Republican seats and guaranteeing Republican control of Congress. Election-rigging in Texas will leave Latino voters with one-third the political power of white voters in the state and Black voters with one-fifth. Under President Trump’s direction, Missouri and other states are on the verge of doing the same. Their goal? To continue their deadly agenda that has already gutted Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, unions, and other aspects of public health and workers’ rights.

California nurses know what to do

Nurses cannot sit by while politicians and their billionaire donors seek to permanently dismantle our health care systems. Voting YES on Prop 50 puts the power in the hands of the people of California to approve emergency Congressional district maps, which will add seats for Democrats in California, ensuring that our Golden State can help protect the voice of voters across the country and voters silenced by the Trump Administration’s power grab. These temporary maps, which expire in 2030, will counteract the Texas attack.

Stand up, fight back!

Nurses know that temporarily shifting our state maps to rebalance the power of working class people nationally is in the best interest of patients everywhere, including in California. If we want to repair the damage caused by the Trump Administration’s attacks on Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, public health, union rights, due process, you name it—this is our chance. We might not get another one. Let’s make our voices heard for our patients!
