RNs in Bryan, College Station, and our larger community have been organizing for a voice in patient care—a voice we will use to demand CommonSpirit put its vast resources toward safe staffing, RN retention, and quality patient care.

Our platform for change

  • RN voice in decision making that prioritizes patient-oriented care over CommonSpirit profits.
  • Enforceable staffing grids that account for patient acuity, adequate support staff, and staff break relief.
  • Recruitment and retention of experienced RNs through a fair and transparent wage system that includes annual guaranteed raises, improved differentials, and bonus shift pay.
  • The right to collectively bargain a contract negotiated by nurses that holds management accountable to safe and transparent practices and working conditions across all units of the hospital.
  • Effective security and workplace violence prevention measures.
  • Establish safe floating practices that ensure patient safety.
  • Functional, safe, and modern equipment to suit patient needs.
