National Nurses United is sounding a “RED ALERT” warning to hundreds of communities nationwide that face a drastic reduction in quantity and quality of health care services as a result of H.R. 1, the Republican bill passed last year. Nurses condemn these cuts to health care funding and denounce the funnelling of this money into ICE and Customs and Border Patrol.
Registered nurses at AHMC Seton Medical Center in Daly City, Calif., have called off their one-day strike scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19. Nurses have reached a tentative agreement with AHMC on a new union contract that addresses the issues they were set to strike over, namely, safe staffing and nurse recruitment and retention.
National Nurses United today announced its endorsement of Connie Chan for California’s 11th Congressional District. Nurses are ready to elect leaders like Connie Chan, who will bring her years of organizing and advocacy experience to Congress to deliver on a progressive agenda that will improve the lives of our patients, immigrant neighbors, and all working people.

Organize with National Nurses United to improve workplace standards through collective bargaining, reform national health care legislation, and make a difference for you and your patients.

RN immigrants rights resources

The Trump Administration has changed the rules, no longer designating hospitals free from immigration enforcement. Nurses make a vow to care for all people, and we know hospitals should remain places of healing, where all people can receive care, without fear. See our resources page for guidance on advocating for all patients regardless of immigration status.
