Demand Congress restore the union rights of VA nurses!

On August 6th, the Department of Veterans Affairs terminated our union contract. Use our form to email members of Congress and demand that they step up to protect VA nurses' right to advocate for patients with the guaranteed protections of a union.

Press releases

Registered nurses at six Tenet hospitals in California have announced they will hold one-day strikes on Thursday, Oct. 30, to protest the multibillion-dollar hospital corporation’s refusal to address nurses’ deep concerns about patient care and safe staffing.
National Nurses United sent a letter yesterday to President Trump urging the United States to “demand a permanent ceasefire, withdrawal of all Russian forces, diplomatic negotiations that respect Ukrainian sovereignty, and just and lasting peace in the country.”
National Nurses United continues to stand in solidarity with our union brother, David Huerta, president of Service Employees and International Workers West, and call for the federal government to drop all charges against Huerta. Huerta was hurt, arrested, and detained in Los Angeles in June while exercising his First Amendment-protected rights to observe and document immigration enforcement activity.
Today, registered nurses from Maine Medical Center (MMC) in Portland and Eastern Maine Medical Center (EMMC) in Bangor gathered in Augusta, Maine, to hold a press conference announcing that they are standing together for better conditions for their patients and fair contracts for nurses working in those facilities.

Organize with National Nurses United to improve workplace standards through collective bargaining, reform national health care legislation, and make a difference for you and your patients.

Patients: Know your immigration rights

The Trump Administration has changed the rules, no longer designating hospitals, as well as schools and churches, as "sensitive areas," free from immigration enforcement. Nurses make a vow to care for all people, and we know hospitals should remain places of healing, where all people can receive care, without fear. We want to ensure you know your rights.
