Press releases

RNs will hold a picket outside the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez, Calif., on Thursday, Feb. 19, to demand hospital and county leaders move funding to save our health system, maintain services, and reverse the dangerous dismantling of the enhanced care management program.
RNs from St. Joseph Health in Brazos Valley, Texas, will hold a rally on Thursday, Feb. 19, as they prepare for upcoming negotiations for their first contract since forming a union last December. Nurses say safe staffing, workplace safety, and a strong voice for bedside nurses will be their top priorities as they start negotiations.
Nurses at USC Keck Hospital and Norris Cancer Center in Los Angeles, Calif. will begin a seven-day strike on Thursday, Feb. 19 over USC’s proposal to restructure employee health care plans, potentially overloading an already strained network, leading to longer wait times and delayed care for both employees and existing patients.
Nurses at MarinHealth Medical Center in Greenbrae, Calif., will hold a strike for one day on Wednesday, Feb. 18, to protest the administration’s refusal to address RNs’ deep concerns about nurse retention, patient care, and safe staffing.

RN immigrants rights resources

The Trump Administration has changed the rules, no longer designating hospitals free from immigration enforcement. Nurses make a vow to care for all people, and we know hospitals should remain places of healing, where all people can receive care, without fear. See our resources page for guidance on advocating for all patients regardless of immigration status.
