Tri-City Medical Center and Palomar Health Nurses to Hold Solidarity Caravan with Supporters to Protest Layoffs and Furloughs of Health Care Workers

To protest and demand the rescinding of layoff and furlough notices of 24 RNs at Tri-City Medical Center, 83 RNs at Palomar Health, and 63 caregivers and health care employees at Palomar Health, registered nurses from Tri-City Medical Center and Palomar Health, along with CHEU members and community supporters will hold a solidarity caravan at 12:00 p.m., April 27, announced California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, the nation’s largest and fastest-growing nurses’ union representing 150,000 registered nurses across the country. Nurses and community members will also be demanding for better patient practices during this COVID-19 pandemic at both public health facilities.

Who: Registered nurses from Tri-City Medical Center and Palomar Health, other members and registered nurses from California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, CHEU members, and caregivers and health care employees from Palomar Health

  • Where: Tri-City Medical Center: 4002 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92056/Palomar Health Administration Building: 456 E. Grand Ave. Escondido, CA 92025 (the caravan of vehicles will circle Tri-City Medical Center and then the Palomar Health Administration building)
