Ronald Reagan University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center Nurses to Hold a Drive-a-Thon at Shift Change to Demand Protections When Treating Patients With COVID-19

Nurses protest lack of PPE

To protest the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE), the decontamination of N-95 respirators with ultraviolet germicidal irradiation, and to demand safe staffing and full employment for frontline health care workers during this COVID-19 pandemic, registered nurses at Ronald Reagan University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center are holding a drive-a-thon and media availability during their shift change at 7:00 pm, April 16. Nurses will describe current conditions and the need for more N95 respirators and other protective gear required to safely treat COVID-19 patients, announced California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, the nation’s largest and fastest-growing nurses’ union representing 150,000 registered nurses across the country.

Media will need to park on LeConte & Westwood or in the UCLA Public Parking on Gayley Ave and Charles E. Young Drive.)
