Queen Meg to Make Appearance April 22 at Beverly Hills Fundraiser
For Immediate Release
April 21, 2010
Beverly Hills will be graced with a new kind of royalty this Thursday, April 22 as Queen Meg of California makes her first triumphant appearance before her adoring subjects. Queen Meg will headline a fundraising event featuring some of the wealthiest names in the national Republican court, including Sen. John McCain and Governors Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney.
Unlike her alter ego, Meg Whitman, the real Queen Meg will be available to both everyday Californians and the news media at her gala Beverly Hills event. Queen Meg—in a royal, horse-drawn carriage—will be escorted to the event by California’s nurses and working families.

The popular demand to crown Queen Meg of California have been inspired by the efforts of the Whitman for Governor campaign to overwhelm democracy with an expected $150 million in television advertising, Queen Meg promises to run California “more like a monarchy.”
Further inspired by the Whitman for Governor campaign, Queen Meg’s agenda for a new California includes:
- Fire 40,000 workers
- Build Prisons, Not Schools
- Healthcare for All Nobility
“After careful consideration of the needs of the subjects of California, I have decided to throw my crown into the ring and accept the Queendom of California,” said Queen Meg. “Given my bottomless treasury, Californians have a democracy that they can no longer afford. Why not try Royalism?”
Malinda Markowitz, RN, co-President of the California Nurses Association added, “Nurses say: don’t buy it. No one should be able to bid on California, whether it’s a pretend Queen or a billionaire CEO.”
