Overview:

The California Nurses Association/National Nurses United seeks an experienced Secretary to provide support to our Collective Bargaining Department in Glendale, California. Three to five years working as a secretary or with office management experience is preferred. Previous experience with labor unions is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Function as the key support staff in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Provide logistical support in administrative project management and event planning

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proficient in word processing, data entry, and basic Accounting administrative support
  • Operation of office equipment (copier, mail machine, shredder, fax, video, and audio conferencing)
  • General administrative support and special projects as assigned
  • Position requires excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Qualified candidates must possess self-initiative/motivation and be able to perform secretarial duties under pressure
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as Adobe Acrobat is required
  • Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new systems and software, including robust database programs and purchase order systems
