This course will examine the unmet health needs and unique healthcare disparities faced by LGBTQI+ people in the US. We will review historical and ongoing struggles for LGBTQI+ health justice and nurses’ vital role as patient and community advocates in the fight for social justice.
Fighting the Monopoly Epidemic
From hospitals to health insurance to pharmaceuticals, health care is increasingly dominated by corporate monopolies. This course will explore the factors driving this trend; how monopoly power threatens our physical and financial health, especially in the time of COVID-19; and how nurses can fight back.
