This Wednesday, with less than a week to the Texas Primary on March 1, Super Tuesday, registered nurses from across Texas will gather in El Paso to ‘get out the vote’ for the candidate they say best supports nurses' values of caring, compassion and community, Sen. Bernie Sanders.

"This is the first time in my life that I have the opportunity to support a presidential candidate whose values match what I work for as a registered nurse, who is working to create the kind of fair and just system that can heal this country," said Elsie Reyes, RN, Pediatrics, Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus.

The RNs, members of National Nurses United, the nation's largest organization of registered nurses, will participate in door knocking, phone banking, and other campaign activities as NNU members have been doing for weeks in Texas and other states.

Texas nurses will be joined by the nurses #BernieBus which is making its Texas debut in El Paso, after making stops in Arizona and New Mexico en route from Nevada. National Nurses United was the first national union to endorse Bernie in August, 2015. In addition to the #BernieBus, NNU nurse members across the country also continue to knock on doors, phone bank, hold house parties, and participate in marches for Bernie.
