What Does the ACA Mean for RN Patient Advocacy? The Bedside From the Bottom Line

Even as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) goes into effect a great deal of uncertainty remains about what the law means for nurses and healthcare. The ACA is part of a longer healthcare restructuring trend designed to reduce operating costs by using more technology and quantitative measures at the bedside.

This course will evaluate how the healthcare industry stands to benefit from this restructuring and highlight how it undermines the ability of nurses to provide care and advocate for their patients. Nurses’ intimate understanding of patient needs affords them an opportunity to address an unsettled question at the heart of healthcare restructuring: Should healthcare be treated as a human right?

2014 California/Nevada Dates:
Jan. 14 - June 3, 2014

NOTE: The Sacramento class has been changed from Jan. 28th to Jan. 27, 2014
